In this conversation, Santiago Rincón-Gallardo joins Wendy Kopp, Founder and CEO of Teacher for All (USA) and Vicky Colbert (Co-Founder of Escuela Nueva) in a panel discussing educational leadership and equity during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. Key ideas shared by Santiago in this panel include:

  • Learning is a practice of freedom
  • Equity should be a practice of solidarity, not one of condescendence
  • Effective leaders create the conditions for all to learn while learning alongside them about what is working and what isn’t. 
  • Resourcefulness – how you turn what you have into what you need to get what you want - will matter more than resources. 
  • Social movements offer a good metaphor to guide how we think about and pursue educational change.
